TaiYuan Locomotive & Rolling Stock Works is founded in 1898,up to now it has more than 100years.It belongs to 1class of large-scale-owe enterprises of CNR of affiliated state-run assets committee of the State Counil. It is a main factory for overhauling of electric locomotive and manufacturing of Model K ballast hopper wagon in China. The railway engineering machinery made by the factory represents leading domestic level.
Now the factory has staff 6494,various technicians 1084,among them there are 22 people with Graduate Student,171 with higher technical title,479 with secondary technical title ,the factory occupies 690,000 square meter, its mechanical are more than 2715 sets, large-scale and precision machines 146 sets; Its annual capacity of overhauling of electric locomotive is 200 sets, manufacturing of rolling stock is 2000 sets and overhauling of rolling stock is 4500 sets.
Now the main products of the factory are as following: Trunk line electrical locomotive; industrial and mineral shunting; catenary work vehicle; serial products of open top car, hopper car, flat car and tank car (used for transportation of oil, liquefied gas, bulk cement and aluminum oxide powder);various kind of motor, transformer, electric cabinet, electroplating and insulating products; all kinds of castings(steel, iron, copper and aluminum), forgings, rivetings, welding structures and machining pieces; and also other products such as uncoiler, rolling mill and plate coiler etc. Some of castings, forgings and machining pieces are sold to Japan, Singapore and Norway.K13 ballast hopper cars have been sold to HongKong, TaiWan region, etc.In 1998 the factory has achieved the certification of ISO9001,In 2003 it has achieved the certification of ISO14001,OHSAS18000.
